The answer is obviously false following the logical sequence of statements. Only statements 1-3 are relevant in the analysis. Statement 2 negates the validity of 1 thus making 2 and 3 false. Thus statement 3 actually says "If the first statement is false, then the second statement is true." Thus, the conclusion "False". However, if you think about statements 1 and 2 -- "1. The following statements is true; and 2. The previous statement is false." -- If statement 1 is negated by 2 wouldn't that make statement 2 false as well since 1, after applying statement 2, states 2 and 3 as false?
